A DOT physical is a comprehensive federally-mandated medical exam for commercial motor vehicle drivers. The exam tests for medical concerns that could interfere with a driver’s job performance. A medical examiner’s certificate, commonly known as a DOT medical card, is required to obtain a commercial driver’s license.
